Booking a trip

How does booking work?

Every stay on Soltar is request to book. Choose your dates and guests on the listing and send a booking request: you get a booking reference right away, and the camp then confirms your request by email, usually within a day or two.

Do I need an account to book?

No. Book with just your name and email, and we create a light account for you automatically so you can find your trip later. If you already have an Soltar account, sign in first so the booking lands in it.

What happens after I send a request?

Your request goes straight to the camp. You pay nothing at this point. Once the camp confirms, you get an email with the trip details and payment instructions. If they cannot host you on those dates, we let you know and you owe nothing.

Where do I find my bookings?

Your bookings live under Trips in the account menu. Each trip page shows the stay, its status, payment instructions once confirmed, and the cancellation terms.

How is booking a lesson different?

Lessons are booked by session: pick the lesson type, a date, a time slot, and how many people are coming. From there it works like a camp booking: the school or instructor confirms your request by email.

Prices and payment

How do I pay for my trip?

You pay the camp directly. Once your booking is confirmed, the camp sends payment instructions along with your confirmation, and the exact steps (bank transfer, pay on arrival) are up to them. Soltar never takes an online payment from you.

Does Soltar charge guests any fees?

No. The price you see is the camp’s own price, shown before taxes. There are no booking fees and no markup. Local taxes, if any apply, are settled directly with the camp.

What is a deposit?

Some camps ask for a deposit, a percentage of the total, to lock in your spot. When a stay needs one, you see it on the listing next to the cancellation terms, and the rest is paid to the camp later.

Can I see prices in my own currency?

Yes. Pick a display currency from the account menu and prices across the site convert at daily European Central Bank rates. Converted figures are for orientation: you are always charged in the listing’s own currency.

Changes and cancellations

How do I cancel a booking?

Open the trip under Trips and choose to cancel. Before you confirm, you see exactly what refund the camp’s policy gives for your dates, so there are no surprises.

What is the cancellation policy?

Each camp sets its own policy based on how far ahead you cancel: the closer to check-in, the smaller the refund. You find the exact terms on the listing before you book and on your trip page after. Most stays also have a short grace period right after booking with a full refund.

Can I change my dates?

Send us a message through the contact page, or reply to your confirmation email, and we sort it out with the camp. Date changes are handled by a real person, not a button, for now.

What can I do in my account?

Follow your trips, keep wishlists of saved listings, and manage your personal info, notifications, and display currency. Everything sits in the account menu at the top right of any page.

How do wishlists work?

Tap the heart on any listing to save it. Saved listings are collected under Wishlists, so you can compare camps and come back to them anytime.
